Mangalore and Udupi - Yet another destination for beach lover

Panambur Beach

Hello Guys, hope you enjoyed my previous travel blogs.

This time I will be sharing my experience from Mangalore which is yet another destination for beach lover. Mangalore is 352 km from Bangalore which is around 10 hours of traveling. So, this is a place which must be explored if you are a beach lover and staying at Bangalore.

How to Reach?

There are multiple options to reach Mangalore. Buses, trains and even flights are available. So plan your trip accordingly as per your budget.

Where to stay?

There are lots of option for accommodation with reasonable cost at Mangalore. The only thing you have to be sure is that rooms are Air conditioned specially when you are traveling during summer as temperature is high during summer.

Beaches to cover

Malpe Beach and St.Mary's Island

Malpe Beach and St.Mary's Island are at Udupi which is around 56 km from Mangalore and will take
around 1 and half to reach. Local buses are easily available from Mangalore to reach Udupi.

There are options for water sports and sea food at Malpe beach and from Malpe beach we can travel to St.Mary's Island by boat. St.Mary's Island is one of the cleanest beach I have ever visited. The water is very clean and clear. But there is limited time to enjoy the island because you have to return by same boat from which you have come. There will give around 1 hour to roam around the island. It was an amazing experience.

Mattu Beach

Mattu Beach is around 12 km from Malpe beach and one of the less crowded beach. I found it to be a peaceful place. Though it is a bit far from main city of Udupi but it is worth travelling , you will love the peaceful environment.

Panambur Beach

Compared to Mattu beach this beach is a bit crowdy but there are lots of options for water sports. It is in Mangalore and is around 42 km from Mattu Beach.

Pilikula Biological Park and Guthu house

Pilikula biological park is around 8 km from Mangalore which will take around 20-25 mins. There are options of local transport to reach the park. The park has zoo and guthu house is also very close to it.

Guthu house is an ancient house with attractive design. There are lots of traditional things at the house. Most part of house is made of wood and the woodwork is brilliant.

Both the places are worth travelling if you are fond of ancient place and animals.

Manipal

Manipal is located at around 7 km from Udupi. Auto and other local transport are easily available to reach Manipal from Udupi. Though there are many things to cover at Manipal but we could cover only End Point. End Point is at the one end of Manipal where we can see the Swarna River and Arabian sea.
Make sure to check the timings before you visit the End Point.

Apart from above mentioned places there are many beautiful churches at Mangalore which you can cover. We did visit few church but the one I liked the most was St. Aloysius Chapel, it  also has museum.

That's all I have from my trip to Mangalore. Thanks for reading the blog.
